Buy Maltitol – the sugar substitute that tastes most like sugar

Maltitol belongs to the group of sugar substitutes and has a chemical structure similar to that of household sugar. It is made from maltose, which is found in corn or wheat starch. Maltitol is designated E965 and contains half the calories of household sugar.

Tolerance 🤗

Maltitol can have a laxative effect when consumed in excess, particularly if the product contains more than 10% maltitol. In typical snack amounts, however, it is well tolerated by most people – as with all sugar alcohols, it is advisable to gradually test your own comfort level.

The daily dose of a maximum of 90 g should not be exceeded – but there is plenty of room for normal portions of sugar-free sweets.

Taste 😋

Maltitol can bind to the sweet receptors on the tongue and therefore tastes very similar to household sugar. For many, it is the most convincing sugar alternative in terms of flavor – without the cooling or bitter aftertaste of some other sweeteners.
